Privacy policy

This policy covers Astrobot, AstroChat and AstroCalendar (together, "Astro"), made by Alex Carofiglio ("we"). Last updated 5 October 2026.

The short version

Astro runs on your own computer. Your Google data is fetched directly from Google to your machine and stored there. We do not operate a server that receives, stores or sees your calendars, email, files or messages, and we never sell your data.

What the apps access, and why

AppGoogle accessUsed for
AstroCalendarGoogle Calendar (read and write), your name and emailShowing your calendars together; creating, moving and answering the events you ask for; with your explicit consent, adding private "Reserved" blocks to your other calendars (removable in one click); greeting you by name.
AstroChatGmail (read and send), your email addressShowing your mail in one inbox with your other channels, and sending the replies you write or approve.
AstrobotGmail (read, drafts), Google Calendar (read, free/busy), Google Drive (read, and files the app creates)Letting the AI agents you set up read what is relevant to a task and prepare drafts; anything sent or changed on your behalf asks for your approval first.

AstroCalendar can also record Google Meet captions through its browser extension, to make your meetings searchable. Transcripts are stored on your computer.

Where your data is stored

On your computer, in the apps' local data folder. Google sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on your machine. Uninstalling an app and deleting its data folder removes everything it stored. You can also revoke Astro's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

AI features

Some features (summaries, agents, suggested replies) use an AI model. When you turn them on, the content needed for that feature is sent from your computer to the AI provider you configure (for example Anthropic's Claude, through your own account), under that provider's terms. We do not receive it, and Google user data is never used to train or improve AI models, ours or anyone's.

Google API Services: Limited Use

Astro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide or improve the user-facing features described above; it is not transferred to others except to provide those features at your request (such as the AI provider you chose), as required by law, or with your consent; it is not used for advertising; and no human reads it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.

What we do not do

Your rights

Because your data stays on your device, you control it directly. If you are in the EU, you have the rights given by the GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). For any privacy question or request, write to alex@morfeushub.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and its date. Material changes are announced in the apps.
